Diploma in Health Sciences (Reflexology)
This 18 month Diploma (newly approved by NZQA) will align itself with the educational standards set down by Reflexology New Zealand and will meet the requirements for international recognition by ITEC, the International Examining Board for Reflexology.
Reflexology is an increasingly popular form of treatment and is used in a variety of situations. It can be used to maintain health and also to assist in the management of a variety of health problems. Reflexology is a simple, holistic, non-invasive form of therapy that utilizes specific forms of thumb and finger pressure. Application of the techniques may assist in the reduction of tension and improved circulation that promotes balance and encourages self healing within the body.
This course provides the essential knowledge and understanding of the theory and practice of Reflexology.

Therapeutic massage is an exciting and fast growing health modality, nationally and internationally. This qualification provides practitioners with the ability to assess dysfunction in the soft tissues of the body and to apply techniques for change. Pain may be reduced and people feel better on many levels – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Techniques will vary according to treatment needs, and both surface and deeper tissues will be worked as needed. Taught by a wide range of teachers with extensive industry experience.
General Information
- NZQA Level 6, 18 months full time. Part time evenings or weekends available in Auckland only. Limited part time day classes available.
- Entry requirements: A good level of health and general fitness, along with the motivation and ability to study theoretical aspects at NZQA Level 5 or above.
- An interview, provides support and an opportunity for the College to assess your commitment and suitability for this qualification.
- If you are studying the Diploma full time you will have little time for employment commitments over and above course hours, study time and home practicum.
- Approved for student loans for all domestic students and allowances for full time domestic students.

Diploma in Health Sciences (Massage & Sports Therapy)
This 2 year Diploma programme, available in Auckland,incorporates the first 18 months of Diploma in Health Sciences (Therapeutic Massage) then continues for a further six months of specialisation in the application of sport and active client specific information.
This course provides an exciting extension to what you already know about massage with a more in depth study around movement and function; prevention, maintenance and rehabilitation of the active person - integrating all the techniques and mind/body concepts learned.
The sports massage industry is still in its infancy in New Zealand and there are many opportunities to educate and develop active people into incorporating massage into their recovery and maintenance programmes. International opportunities abound and so career opportunities are not restricted to one geographical area..
