College Values

The Heart of our College

Accountability …
We are truly responsible for our actions and outcomes. We are accountable for our results and we know that for things to change first we must change. We expect our colleagues and our students to be accountable for their results and outcomes too.
Respect, Ethics, Integrity …
We are professional, honest and loyal. We show respect to ourselves and others, and our intention is to act for the highest good of ourselves, others and the New Zealand College of Massage. We act in alignment with the NZCM Code of Ethics.
Structure, Planning, Efficiency …
Through a collaborative approach, we have developed clear and transparent structures that are communicated effectively and efficiently to all members of staff, students, faculty and external stake holders to enable effective planning and professional implementation.
Inquiry, Discovery, Insight, Education, Learning …
We deliver a high level of education based on a commitment to open, engaged inquiry enabling discovery, insights and deepening of whole person learning.
Creativity, Innovation …
We create an environment that allows creation and innovation, supported by inspiration to pioneer massage and complementary therapies as a worldwide integrated health option.
Family, Community, Team, Inclusion …
We foster an inclusive, safe environment which enables each person opportunities to maximise their development through: support, encouragement, acknowledgement, constructive awareness, and celebration.
Excellence, Consistency, Communication …
We prize excellence and consistency in delivering quality education and personal and professional development. We use conscious communication that incorporates listening, heart, touch and intention to empower ourselves and others.
Adaptability, Flexibility …
We are flexible within ourselves and with others. We adapt easily to different situations that are presented on a daily basis. We accept diversity which allows us to acknowledge the differences within the NZCM community. This also gives us the freedom to be who we are.
Accomplishment …
We work towards accomplishment. We are satisfied when our duties to our colleagues and students are achieved.
Wellness, Healing …
Our health and wellness are important to us to deliver our daily duties with enthusiasm. We support and accept our colleagues and students in their healing and wellness.
Support, Caring, Nurturance …
We create an environment that nurtures and supports us, our colleagues and our students. We accept nurturance and support in return. We ask for help when we need it and we are compassionate to others who ask us.
Congruence, Integration …
We think globally. We recognise the need for integration across levels and systems, and we consider the effects of our actions. We believe there is a greater strength in our communal input than any one person can generate alone, and we act accordingly. We act according to our values and principles, and the values of NZCM.
