Jill comes to us with extensive experience in the education of naturopaths and herbal medicine practitioners, clinical practice and consultation to natural health industry, a journey which began 27 years ago when Jill experienced a life changing health issue. Her aim has always been to provide highest quality education in the natural health field and to encourage and empower others to make positive changes in their lives and of course to be “unstoppable”.

Shelley comes to us from the tertiary education sector and joins the team as the Education Manager with an extensive background in policy. Trish completed her Diploma in Therapeutic Massage in 2001. Since then she has combined her massage practice with various roles within the college which have included administration and assistant tutoring of interest courses.
Lyn Wayman
Librarian
Lyn Wayman is a Filipino licensed librarian. Before coming to New Zealand, she was employed in one of the largest banks in Asia, with main headquarters in Manila. She was the head of the Cataloguing Unit in the library, supervising four staff. At the same time, she was also teaching Library courses on Saturdays in two universities. Before she joined us here at the college, she had worked in one of the busiest public libraries, Mt Albert Library. Lyn provides a quality information centre to the students and staff of the College; maintains and develops print and electronic resources to support courses the College offers; and assists students and staff to develop research skills for their courses.
Kiri Atatoa

Kiri runs a successful clinic in Sale Street in the City. It is here that she applies her massage skills to a wide range of people, from professional athletes to OOS sufferers, or those just interested in general health and fitness.

Trish Bartlett

Trish combines many years’ experience of teaching adults, with her passion for massage, balancing a thriving massage practice in Northcote with a variety of teaching. She especially enjoys encouraging students’ enthusiasm and creativity while inspiring them to discover more of the joys of massage.
Jan Cairncross

Jan has travelled the world with massage and worked in London for three years before returning to work in Auckland. She has an interest in working with stress and emotional tension in the body. She tutors the certificate level courses and highly recommends traveling the globe as a massage therapist
Madhu Chandra

Madhu's speciality is neuromuscular therapy and she loves treating the unusual soft tissue problems such as TMJ, snoring etc . She runs her own clinic out of the ProHealth centre at the college using Neuromuscular therapy, therapeutic and relaxation massage. Madhu also teaches Clinical Therapeutics and Anatomy and Physiology.
Christian Cole
Dip. Th. Massage
Christian was in the initial part time NMT course in 1998 and was later asked to assist teaching it. He also taught on various Certificate and Diploma programmes over the years as well as being a supervisor in the student clinic.
He now is ICT Co-ordinator (Information, Communication and Technology) at the College and is currently responsible for the website and helpdesk issues, as well as design work for the college materials.
Lesley Colman

Lesley has a background in business (specialising in business improvement and change management), health management, kinesiology and fitness. She combines these skills with her passion for massage and quality of life. Lesley’s communication skills and enthusiasm for encouraging others add a special dimension to her teaching.
Over the past 12 years, Lesley has, in turn, been Student, Tutor and Author for some of the College’s course material – Business Skills and Facial Massage – enjoying the diversity and creating a ‘portfolio lifestyle’ for herself which allows her to follow all her passions.
Natalie Dent

Since 2004 Nat has massaged and taught pilates at a Physiotherapy Clinic on the North Shore, and enjoyed working with clientele from the early stages of rehabilitation right through to elite athletes. She is currently running a massage business in Forrest Hill, teaching pilates and tutoring in relaxation and sports massage for the college.
Sharon Erdrich

In her broad-reaching career, Sharon has been involved in all levels of health care from primary and community-based practice to Intensive Care and, more recently, in complementary and integrative medicine, where her vast knowledge and varied experiences makes her a very effective practitioner.
She is passionate about supporting people in their quest for knowledge – whether it is for personal health reasons or professional development. She is an experienced tutor, health writer and presenter and was one of the team of nutritional advisors on the popular “What’s Really in our Food” TV series. Sharon is the director of two busy integrated natural health clinics – House of Health in Herne Bay and a branch in Central CBD
Barbara Fleming

Currently busily working at three different clinics around Auckland, Barbara left a career as a computer analyst to become a massage therapist. She has a passion for hockey and outdoor activities and loves to travel. Barbara is also one of our lead practical tutors at the college.
Rosie Gee
Dip. Th. Massage, Dip CNMT.
Rosie’s massage career has been varied, ranging from massaging people with disabilities, on-site corporate massage, and massaging for the NZ Aids Foundation. She now runs her own busy clinic in Torbay where she specialises in helping clients with chronic pain, rehabilitation and relaxation massage. Rosie also teaches in the Certificate programme, including the Surface Anatomy classes.
Giff Goldsmith

Giff has spent many years in corporate roles in New Zealand and overseas. Having returned to New Zealand. Giff undertook the Certificate in Relaxation Massage and found it so useful he just kept on studying! Giff does mobile massage and helps at the College as a Tutor Assist on the Certificate Programme.
Bryce Hatton

Bryce spent a number of years in various roles within the corporate and arts sectors before becoming a massage therapist. Having completed the degree in December 2009 he now runs a massage practice in Mt Eden and combines this with part time tutor assist work on the certificate and diploma programmes alongside his role as community liaison for the college.
Nanci Heah

An experienced physiotherapist specialising in paediatrics, massage and lymphatic work, Nanci runs a busy clinic, successfully linking bodywork and aromatherapy with traditional approaches to physical therapy. She teaches Clinical Therapuetics and Theoretical Reasoning plus special interest short courses.
Susan Henricksen
BHSc (Comp Med), Dip Nat, Dip Herb Med, Dip Hom, Dip Med Lab Tech
Susan has a well developed background in the area of health and well being. A long career in Medical Laboratory Technology established a strong, scientifically orientated knowledge base on which she has applied her learning as a qualified Naturopath and Homeopath. Discovering a love of teaching and helping others to learn, she moved on to teach at the Naturopathy and Homeopathy Colleges where she gained her qualification. Susan now applies her knowledge as the Programme Leader for Human Sciences and as the tutor for Anatomy and Physiology.
Katrina Hill-Rennie
Katrina Hill-Rennie is an Internationally registered Ortho-Bionomy Instructor and Advanced Practitioner who maintains busy clinical practices in Hamilton and Thames and has over 10 years clinical experience using Ortho-Bionomy.
Barbara Hilton
Dip NZDN Dip Th. Mass.
Barbara has many years of experience gained from her busy private clinical practice in Howick. A requirement for the industry is a continuum of updating knowledge, techniques, and latest research, thus Barbara is able to successfully integrate a variety of modalities into her rehabilitation, pre & post surgery, relaxation massage and treatment sessions. Lymphatic drainage is one of those specialties. Barbara imparts her great depth of knowledge with empowering passion, enthusiasm and a sense of humor to the certificate programme classes.
Wade Irvine

Wade’s main focus is on rehabilitation from injury or pain. He has worked professionally with Riverdance, Prada’s America’s Cup team, the Auckland Blues and NPC Rugby. He is part owner of Bodysmart at Victoria Park Market and teaches in the Sports Diploma and Degree programmes.
Andre Kleinbaum

Andre Kleinbaum is an Auckland based osteopath who recently graduated from Unitec, New Zealand. Originally from Mexico, he has lived around the world in the USA, Belgium and for the last 9 years, New Zealand. As well as Osteopathy, Andre's interests lie with playing classical guitar, surfing and practicing tai chi chuan.
Andre teaches research methodology at the College.
Barbara Langton

Barbara has many years of involvement with Holistic Pulsing as Practitioner, Teacher and a founding member of the Holistic Pulsing Guild of NZ. She brings a warmth and depth to her teaching as well as her passion for body/mind healing and unfolding. In addition to Holistic Pulsing she is an active Co-counsellor and accredited Teacher, involved in interpersonal skills trainings and a Disputes Tribunal Referee. She teaches holistic pulsing and Health Psychology.
Cathy Lawson

Cathy has had years of experience in her own clinical practice and assisting with massage teaching. Her warm, friendly approach, and ability to link with people has been appreciated by many students.
Sylvan Lockie
BHSc (Nursing), PGCert (Surgical Nursing), BAppSc(Human Biology), MOst
Sylvan brings her enthusiasm and knowledge from many spheres to the classroom. A former surgical nurse, with a keen interest in adventure sports, Sylvan completed her Master of Osteopathy degree with a research project investigating the experiences of injured snowboarders. She works in a busy osteopathic practice on the North Shore.
Sylvan teaches in the Musculoskeletal 1 course at the College.
Doug Maynard

Backgrounds in rugby, martial arts & more recently mountain biking & body building, Doug owns Lifestyles Neuromuscular & Massage Therapy in West Auckland. He now specializes in the treatment of chronic pain with particular interest in Headaches/Migraines and TMJ dysfunction. Doug teaches the NMT component of the Degree, and also teaches the Certificate Surface Anatomy weekends.
Lisa McMillan
BHS (Mass & NMT), Dip. Th. Mass., Cert. Relaxation Mass.
Lisa has an extensive background in office administration in the construction industry and continues to work part time in this area. She runs her own clinic from Health Directions in West Harbour using a variation of neuromuscular therapy, therapeutic and relaxation massage techniques to suit individual client needs. Lisa also teaches the Interest Courses (introduction to massage) at the college and assists in the Certificate Program part time.
Wendy McNeely
B.Sc.
Wendy heads the Aromatherapy Division of the College and is an integral part of the Sports Diploma & Health Studies Degree courses. Her history includes working as a biochemist for a large medical research company, for over 10 years, in the UK and representing Great Britain in athletics for 14 years.
She currently works for both the college and for an international medical publishing company. She marries her medical knowledge, her experience as a sports woman and her passion for “the chemistry of life” in her presentation of Aromatherapy, Anatomy & Physiology and Biochemical Interventions.
Philippa Pownall
BSc (Sport and Exercise Science); BAppSc (Human Biology); MOst
Philippa is a practicing osteopath with interests in massage (she studied the Certificate course at NZCM), sport injuries and paediatrics & pregnancy. She has a keen interest in anatomy and sport having bachelor degrees in human biology, sport and exercise science as well as a master’s degree in osteopathy. Philippa assists in the musculoskeletal anatomy courses.
Susan Shay Penman
Shay has taught a wide range of massage classes and other therapies since 1984. She emphasises the need for each person to build on his or her own special abilities and she teaches with humour and sensitivity, assisting students to link a sound scientific base, creativity and the wonderful benefits of massage. Shay has a thorough knowledge of the massage industry. She chaired the NZQA Massage Advisory Network in New Zealand from 1993 to 2005, and currently teaches and advises at the college.
Lyn Ryan

Lyn works in a busy clinic in Howick focusing on relaxation and therapeutic massage. She enjoys sharing her sense of humour with the wide range of people that connect with the College, to create a relaxed learning environment. Lyn teaches in the weekend practical sessions.
Simonne Thompson

Simonne spent 13 years in golf course administration before qualifying here at the college with a Diploma in Massage and Neuromuscular Therapy. She assists in the full time certificate massage classes. She also has a mobile massage business in central Auckland.
Alison Trethewey
Dip. Th. Massage, RMT (TMA), Dip. Early Childhood Education, Intl. Trainer- Assoc. of Infant Massage.
An experienced family counselor who teaches massage for Palliative Care, general massage and Health Psychology. Alison also supervises the Student Clinics at the College and has taken on the role of Certificate support person.
Barry Vautier
ND, DHM, Dip. Th. Massage, RMT (TMA), Massage Therapist, Naturopath and Mentor.
Barry utilises many therapeutic techniques at his busy Mt Eden practice. His considerable experience is passionately imparted to the students of the Diploma and Certificate courses. He teaches full time certificate Anatomy and Physiology, On-Site Chair Massage and now specialises in Fascial Kinetics (Bowen Technique).
Mary Wakefield
DCR(T) (UK); Dip. Th. Massage; Dip Aroma; Caisley-Smith Cert in Lymphoedema (L/O) Mgmt; Mason Adv cert in L/O mgmt; Lee Adv cert in L/O Mgmt.
Mary qualified as a Radiation Therapist, working in this field for 13 years. Following gaining a Dip. Aromatherapy, she took up employment with the Auckland Cancer Society, where she was team leader and manager of the Aromatherapy and Lymphoedema Clinic for 10 years. During these years, she gained qualifications and diversified into Lymphoedema Management, to meet the increasing need of the cancer based client demographic.
She is now in Private Practice in Mt Eden, something that she combines with studying towards completing her Bachelor in Health Studies. In her spare time Mary enjoys running, swimming, and is an avid “Scrapbooker”.
Gail Wolf
Gail has a background in both education and therapeutic massage, with an overall interest in wellness and the professional role of the therapist. Key interest areas include communication skills, physiological and psychological responses to stress, and unlocking of body patterns and tension. She sees balance and the ability to enjoy life as keys to health. Her role at the college continues in teaching and advising.
